PLUGGED// Pixel Press

I'm not sure how many people have seen this project on Kickstarter, but I am completely on board with it. Being a Games Design student that is broke most of the time makes it hard to contribute considerably to kickstarters I think are genius, but I've decided to make rice a staple of my diet this week to help these guys out. I'm also spreading the word to you, dear nerdlings, to help out if you can!

Anyone readers out there love Little Big Planet? Well, Pixel Press is what Little Big Planet may have been if it were released on iOS/Android. It's a community driven app that lets you design and build you own 2D platform games to share with others without having to know even a single line of code. You just draw up your level and load it into the app to test out the gameplay. Once it works the way you envision, you polish it with the design options and voila! You, nerdling, have just created your very own level to share with friends.

As a big supporter of games like Minecraft and Little Big Planet that really gear players up to think creatively, this app has me so excited! I feel it would be a great addition to the app market; why waste your commute to school or work mindlessly flinging birds at a building for the billionth time when you can get your creative circuits sparking? As a kid I would have loved to have had this kind of app at my fingertips. Who am I kidding, I still would!

You can check out Robin Rath's kickstarter page or the Pixel Press Game website for more information. Their funding window finishes on Friday Jun 14, 12:59am EDT, so get in quick if you'd like to support them!
